ML Engineer (LLM)

Role Overview

A tech company in the sports betting and gaming analytics space is expanding its internal AI team and is looking for an ML Engineer with hands-on experience in Large Language Models. You will join a multidisciplinary group of data scientists, engineers, and product owners to design, fine-tune, and deploy LLM-powered solutions across customer support, content generation, and decision support systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and fine-tune state-of-the-art LLMs for specific business cases in sports betting and gaming analytics.
• Optimize inference pipelines to ensure low latency and high throughput in production environments.
• Build and enhance retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows, combining vector search with generative capabilities.
• Create robust evaluation frameworks to measure model performance, bias, and consistency, iterating on improvements.
• Deploy scalable, containerized ML services (Docker, Kubernetes) ensuring stability and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate closely with software engineers to integrate LLM-based APIs into customer-facing and internal applications.
• Stay abreast of the latest academic and industry research in LLM development, adapting best practices and emerging techniques.

Requirements

• Proven experience training and fine-tuning large transformer models (GPT, BERT, T5 or similar).
• Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Hands-on experience with MLOps tools for CI/CD, monitoring, and versioning of models.
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone) and RAG architectures.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and automated tests for model pipelines.
• Excellent analytical skills, problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
