Team Lead SRE
Role Overview
We are seeking a Technical Lead / SRE Team Lead to join INDEX and build from scratch an ultra-low-latency HFT (High-Frequency Trading) infrastructure for global markets. Initially, you will be hands-on, ensuring production reliability of trading binaries and responding to incidents. Over time, you will expand the team and establish best practices in observability, monitoring, on-call processes, and performance optimization.
Key Responsibilities
• Own production reliability for trading binaries in a high-load, mission-critical environment
• Design and implement observability, monitoring, analytics, and alerting pipelines using Grafana, Prometheus, ELK or similar tools
• Lead incident management, escalation procedures and on-call rotations to minimize downtime
• Perform deep Linux and systems troubleshooting to resolve latency and stability issues
• Automate infrastructure deployment and CI/CD processes with Docker, Kubernetes and IaC
• Collaborate with developers and ops teams to improve platform resilience and scalability
• Over time, recruit, mentor and manage an SRE / TradeOps team, defining operational processes and SLA
Requirements
• 6+ years of hands-on SRE or DevOps experience in production environments
• Strong Unix/Linux skills with proven track record in low-latency troubleshooting
• Proficient coding in Python or Go for automation, tooling and performance diagnostics
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks (Grafana, Prometheus) and log aggregation
• Excellent incident response, root cause analysis and documentation skills
• English level B2+ for clear communication in an international team
