Senior Software Engineer (Python)

Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Python) to join Devhunt’s remote engineering team. This is a fully remote position (GMT+4 ±1) that offers a competitive salary of $6,000–6,500 USD per month. As part of our global microservices-driven infrastructure, you will collaborate directly with Product Managers and Architects to translate business and system requirements into clean, maintainable code. You will leverage your expertise in Python, Django, DRF and FastAPI to architect scalable backend services, integrate AI assistants into development workflows, and ensure high reliability through comprehensive testing and monitoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Validate business and system requirements from Product Managers & Architects and transform them into robust Python code using idiomatic patterns.
• Develop and maintain high-performance microservices with Django, DRF or FastAPI, ensuring optimal database interactions with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Create and update technical documentation, API specifications and maintain version control for all source code.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams—developers, QA, DevOps—to streamline deployments in a CI/CD environment.
• Perform root-cause analysis and expert-level troubleshooting to resolve production issues and eliminate recurring bugs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on Python development experience, with deep understanding of concurrency, asynchronous programming and best practices.
• Proven expertise in Django ORM or FastAPI, including building RESTful APIs and middleware components.
• Proficiency in writing unit, integration and performance tests to guarantee code quality.
• Experience with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka or Redis Streams) and event-driven architecture.
• Strong knowledge of microservices design principles, containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Solid background in database optimization, isolation levels and query tuning for MySQL 8+ or PostgreSQL 15+.
