Head of GIS

Description of the Role

As the Head of GIS at TraceAir, you will take ownership of our geospatial strategy, overseeing a dynamic, fully remote team of over 30 GIS professionals. You will guide the evolution of our site work intelligence platform used by construction teams worldwide, ensuring the accuracy, scalability, and performance of spatial data pipelines. This position combines high-level strategic leadership with hands-on management of GIS workflows and technical architecture.

Key responsibilities:
* Define and implement the GIS roadmap in alignment with corporate objectives, improving data quality and delivery timelines.
* Lead, mentor, and recruit GIS analysts and engineers, fostering a high-performance culture across multiple time zones.
* Optimize spatial data processing using QGIS, ArcGIS, AutoCAD and photogrammetry tools (Photoscan, Pix4D, Photomod).
* Ensure robust coordinate system management, data validation, and integration with construction intelligence modules.
* Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and operations teams to drive cross-functional initiatives, from proof-of-concepts to large-scale rollouts.
* Monitor KPIs, budget, and resource allocation to scale GIS operations as project volumes grow.
