DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Description of the role

We’re seeking a skilled and experienced DevOps Engineer with AWS expertise to join our global DevOps team at BrightData. In this key role, you will manage and optimize our multi-region cloud infrastructure, drive CI/CD pipelines, and lead automation initiatives that directly impact our data delivery platform. Working closely with developers—particularly those with a Node.js background—you will ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and efficient scaling across AWS and Kubernetes environments.

Key responsibilities:
• Design, provision, and maintain multi-region AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, EKS, ELB, IAM, S3, Route 53, Secrets Manager).
• Build, operate, and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to support containerized workloads at scale.
• Develop and manage Terraform modules for infrastructure-as-code deployment and maintenance.
• Implement and optimize CI/CD workflows (GitLab CI/CD, GitOps with ArgoCD) for automated, reliable application releases.
• Monitor system health and performance using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack; set up alerts and dashboards.
• Lead cost-optimization efforts: right-sizing instances, leveraging spot and reserved instances, and monitoring usage.
• Write scripts (Shell, Node.js, Python) and leverage AWS CLI to automate routine tasks and improve observability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define best practices in security, networking (L2/L3, VPNs, routing), and backup strategies.
