Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Role Overview

As Chief Technology Officer at Poker First, you will define and drive the global technology strategy across our flagship iGaming products—Poker, Casino and Sportsbook—in a fully remote environment. You will partner closely with the executive leadership team to align technological vision with business objectives, ensuring our platforms are scalable, secure and able to handle millions of daily users. This role is ideal for a seasoned technology leader with deep expertise in software architecture, cloud infrastructure and agile team management, who thrives on innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural evolution.
• Build, mentor and scale a high-performing cross-functional team encompassing product engineers, DevOps specialists and infrastructure experts.
• Implement robust security and disaster-recovery frameworks, including regular audits, penetration testing and vulnerability management.
• Evaluate, introduce and integrate emerging technologies—AI-driven automation, microservices orchestration, serverless computing—to enhance operational efficiency and feature velocity.
• Oversee vendor and partner relationships, negotiate SLAs, and ensure third-party services meet performance and compliance standards.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for system reliability, scalability and time-to-market metrics.
• Foster a culture of agility, knowledge sharing and data-driven decision making across global time zones.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a senior technology leadership role, ideally within an iGaming, fintech or high-growth startup environment.
• Strong background in back-end development using Node.js and TypeScript, with a clear understanding of clean architecture principles.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS acceptable) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB) with hands-on query optimization and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, ArgoCD), containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Solid grasp of cybersecurity frameworks, data-protection best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communicator, capable of translating complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and fostering collaboration across teams.
