Backend Engineer

Description of the Role

EmFi Technologies Ltd. is seeking a dedicated Backend Engineer with strong Go expertise to join our fully remote, globally distributed team. In this key position you will be responsible for architecting, developing, and maintaining highly scalable, efficient, and secure backend services that support our expanding suite of AI-powered Web3 applications. Reporting to the Technical Lead, you will drive the implementation of critical systems, uphold code quality standards, and collaborate across functions to deliver robust solutions.

Your main responsibilities include:
* Designing and implementing RESTful APIs using FastAPI to interface with our LLM-powered modules and external services.
* Setting up and managing asynchronous task queues (e.g., Celery with Redis) for background job processing and data pipelines.
* Integrating and optimizing vector databases such as Qdrant, ensuring query efficiency, data integrity, and horizontal scalability.
* Collaborating closely with MLOps engineers to embed machine learning models into production environments, enabling logging and debugging endpoints for performance monitoring.
* Writing clean, reusable, and maintainable Go code, conducting code reviews, and keeping comprehensive developer documentation.

Required Qualifications:
* Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in backend development using Go.
* Proven track record working with web3 decentralized applications and blockchain integrations.
* Solid understanding of REST API design principles and microservices architecture.
* Proficiency with containerization (Docker) and familiarity with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
* Experience with message queues (RabbitMQ, Kafka) and distributed systems design.
* English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands-on experience with Kubernetes orchestration and CI/CD pipelines.
* Familiarity with GraphQL, WebSocket protocols, and performance optimization in high-load environments.
* Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies and cloud-native best practices.
