Senior Backend Engineer (Python, HealthTech, ML/AI)

Role Description

On this Senior Backend Engineer position, you will spearhead the design and implementation of a secure, scalable backend system that powers our conversational AI patient support platform. Working primarily with Python and FastAPI, you will develop and optimize RESTful services, building robust data pipelines for sleep therapy management and integrating with Electronic Health Record systems using FHIR and HL7 standards. You will ensure HIPAA compliance across all data flows, collaborate closely with ML and biomedical AI experts to deploy machine learning models safely in production, and enhance database performance in PostgreSQL. Your responsibilities will also include defining infrastructure as code with Terraform, maintaining cloud resources on GCP, and improving system observability through monitoring and alerting frameworks such as Prometheus and Grafana.
